WELCOME TO THE CMC E-MAIL LIST WHAT IS IT AND HOW DOES IT WORK? The CMC E-Mail Discussion List is a forum available to all CMC members. It allows every participating CMC member to send a single email to ALL members participating on the list. If you subscribe to the list, any email you send to cmc-email@californiamountaineer.com will be sent to all list members. WHAT CAN I USE THE LIST FOR? CMC members can use the list to post private trips, find partners, discuss current conditions, etc. Trip leaders can use the list to fill vacancies on their trips. Please note that trips are not official CMC trips unless they are published in the Newsletter that is mailed out to all members, and the CMC disclaims any responsibility for such unofficial trips. The CMC does not screen any posts made to the list, nor does the CMC screen or qualify any unofficial trips that may be posted to the list. If you should chose to participate in an unofficial trip, you are responsible for evaluating whether the trip leader and any other participants are safe and responsible. CAN I JOIN EVEN IF I'M NOT A CMC MEMBER? No. The e-mail list is only open to CMC members. If you are not a member, we encourage you to join us. Click here for details. ARE THERE ANY RULES I HAVE TO FOLLOW? Please remember that anything you send to the list is sent to potentially hundreds of members. All posts to the list should be courteous and polite and should be on topics which are of interest to CMC members. Please do not send "test" messages to the list. Section One - Using CMC-Email
To post a message to all the list members, send email to cmc-email@californiamountaineer.com. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Section Two - Subscribing to CMC-Email
Subscribe to CMC-Email by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. Once confirmation is received, your request will be held for approval by the list moderator. You will be notified of the moderator's decision by email. This is also a private list, which means that the list of members is not available to non-members. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription. You can always request a mail-back of your password when you edit your personal options. Once a month, your password will be emailed to you as a reminder.
