From jjdmdsp at ptd.net Sun May 15 07:08:34 2005 From: jjdmdsp at ptd.net (Jeremy dePrisco) Date: Sun May 15 07:08:39 2005 Subject: [Bloomsburgcares] Dr. B response, attachments, forwards, etc. Message-ID: <20050515110838.99CFC57170@seven.pairlist.net> Helena, In the post you sent about Dr. B's response, there simply was no text - partial or otherwise. Here's that post: *** beginning of post *** Below this signature block is a long response to our email to Stu Breisch & Sally Nelson. I have responded by asking for the mailing address and permission to use the information in a press release when we announce the distribution of funds. There is also an attachment that I won't open until Saturday when I'm at the "headquarters." helena BLOOMSBURG CARES 10 EAST MAIN ST BLOOMSBURG PA 17815 570.387.8027 _WWW.BLOOMSBURGCARES.ORG_ (http://www.bloomsburgcares.org/) If you want to unsubscribe, please let us know by email. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL: http://seven.pairlist.net/pipermail/bloomsburgcares/attachments/20050513/213 c10f9/attachment.html" *** end of post *** So the question is, where is the "long response"?? There was no text from Dr. B, incomplete or otherwise. Just your message. I do not mean to belabor this point, but the troubleshooter in me wants to find an answer :-) Quite simply the communication goals of this list are not being met with such posts. I'm not sure where the problem is, but the symptoms were pointing to an attachment, forwarded message (which also won't work on the list) or copy/paste issue. The problem is that the information you wanted to convey did not get through, and as a result our list members will be further confused. If you have the response at the Emporium that is fine, but many (including myself) simply can not get there right now. I'm really trying to understand what is happening here so I can help, but right now I guess it's a mystery. As a rule, only text in your original email message that you type will show up as a post. Only other thing I can think of is to use plain text, not HTML text. I suspect AOL might be part of the problem, since it defaults to HTML text. When you copy/paste, it HTML is the default, then your paste will be HTML and will show up as an attachment (unintentionally). In any event, I suppose it is good we're getting a response. ___________________ Jeremy J. dePrisco Writer, Composer & Sound Distortion Specialist MINDSPEAK & Blue Buddha Records http://www.mindspeak.com "I've never known a musician who regretted being one.
