Open Call for IGDA Casual Game White Paper Contributors!

Do you have something to say about Casual Games -- or have a particular
area of expertise in the casual games industry? Do you enjoy writing
about casual games and their current state of affairs? Can you write
about casual games without being tempted to use it as a marketing
vehicle for your company? :)

If you answered "yes" to these questions, then you ought to become a
writer for the 2006 IGDA Casual Games White Paper!

As many of you know, the IGDA Casual Games Special Interest Group (SIG)
publishes a yearly White Paper on the state of casual games. Since its
inception, the White Paper has become the industry standard for this
growing sector of the game industry. Now, for the first time ever, the
Casual Games White Paper is housed and maintained on a wiki, where it is
being revised and updated as I write.

Having the White Paper on a wiki makes it easier than ever to edit. So
if you have something to say about Casual Games -- you can start
contributing directly on the wiki right away! Just go to the White
Paper wiki page, register for a user account and start writing and
editing sections that you feel you are qualified to write about:
www.igda.org/wiki/index.php/Casual_Games_SIG/Whitepaper/

As with any wiki, you don't need to contact anyone to get permission to
contribute, just start writing! Just be sure to follow ALL contributor
guidelines before you start writing:
www.igda.org/wiki/index.php/Casual_Games_SIG/Whitepaper/Guidelines. Your
written contribution can be big or small, including fixing grammatical
errors, syntactical problems or misspellings. It's up to you! We also
recommend you familiarize yourself with the names of the Editors who are
responsible for the continuity of the paper:
www.igda.org/wiki/index.php/Casual_Games_SIG/Whitepaper/Contributors.

The SIG has set aside time this month to make a big push to have the
wiki-based White Paper brought up-to-date. The plan is to have a majorly
upgraded version of the current White Paper in place by the time E3
rolls around. That means this first wave of major edits to our living
wiki are due by May 1, 2006 (not a lot of time, so hurry if you're
interested!).

We hope you take some time to get involved in the White Paper and
contribute your knowledge and expertise to this invaluable community
tool. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Warm Regards,
