Yes. Big Kahuna Words is doing exactly that for the logo movie and the
tutorial movies.  We don't use Flash to draw the animation to the screen. We
extract the frames out of flash and draw them to the screen ourselves. For
future games we will likely use this for game sprites if we can get the
alpha channels to come though properly.
