The Texas Independent Game Conference ( www.txindiegamecon.com ), to be held
at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Austin, Texas, this weekend (July 22-23, 2006),
features leading independent game developers speaking on topics like these:

   * Winning as an Independent Developer
   * Alternate Funding for Indie Games
   * Profitable Indie Arcade Development
   * Starting With Nothing
   * Open Source Software in Games
   * Next-Generation Audio on an Indie Budget
   * Techniques of Procedurally Generated Content
   * IP Protection
   * Security
   * Networking for Online Games
   * The Digital Convergence Initiative

Speakers and panelists include Gordon Walton (BioWare Austin), Jay Moore
(Torque), Steve Jackson (Steve Jackson Games), Michael Kimball (Midway
Studios), Harlan Beverly (Big Foot Networks), Thom Robertson (Aggressive
Games), and many more. Two keynote speakers, Greg Costikyan and Warren
Spector, will deliver their forthright views on what's wrong with the
industry and how it needs to change.

On Saturday evening the conference will host an open BYOC (Bring Your Own
Computer) demo area where registered attendees can demonstrate their games
and technology tests.

The Texas Independent Game Conference runs from 9AM to 5:30PM Saturday, July
22, and 9AM to 12:30 PM Sunday. Registration is just $105 for BOTH days, or
