Mine is a mix of iPhone and Windows downloadable, skewing slightly towards
iPhone and with a dash of Flash browser games.

Heya!

Rob Gordon here, founder and president of The Article 19 Group. We?re a
casual games studio based in Montreal, Canada. Joined the list to keep a
finger on the pulse.

We started back when all of this stuff was just called ?multimedia?. For
many years we worked primarily in Director, but have now made the transition
to Flash. We do almost exclusively casual titles for the browser, though we
have pushed games to the desktop as well as through retail channels. We do a
blend of original pieces (e.g., The Daily Jigsaw, The Daily Diff, Carrie
the Caregiver, Race To Rome) as well as work-for-hire gigs (e.g., Let?s Get
Cookin?, HouseFlip, MindHabits, Let?s Get Grillin?).

Cheers!

Hey everybody, just to get a slightly easier-to-track result, I've set this
up as a pool on the IGDA web site at https://www.igda.org/casual-games. I'm
pretty sure you can view the page without signing in to the IGDA web site
but I'm not 100% sure about voting.

Here is my sound off intro and answer to what types of casual games we are
making:

My name is Jesse Lindsley and I handle biz dev for Thrust Interactive a
developer of online & mobile games;

we build a few self titles; Button Men on the iphone being one that is still
out there that people like to play, but 99% of our business is building
games for other folks;

We started in '04 doing 100% browser-based (flash) multiplayer games; 50%
casual/skill/casino games and 50% virtual worlds...in '09 we started seeing
every 4th project be Unity and now it's probably a 50/50 split between flash
& unity.

About 10% of those games end up being ported to the iphone/ipad and and now
more and more have some sort of integration/customer acquisition strategy in
the social games (facebook) space.

Cheers.

Jesse

P.S. I also help head up the Atlanta IGDA chapter..

Hey Dave,

Great idea, can you make it so that we can choose more than one option?
Tried to edit it without luck.

Cheers,

Alfredo
