Hi All,

Just letting you all know about some job opportunities at the Tax
Office's Simulation Centre.  Applications are due by close of business
Thursday 9th of August.


What is the Simulation Centre?
The Simulation Centre is a space located in Brisbane which enhances and
supports the Tax Office's program of user centred design. The Simulation
Centre allows project teams to have a greater focus on user involvement
(general public, Tax Agents, specialist groups etc) in the design and
evaluation of Tax Office products, processes and systems.

The aim of the Simulation Centre is to bring designers and users of the
tax system into a common space that provides creative support and the
ability to share experiences. The Simulation Centre:

*	helps to design and build products that continually improve and
respond to the tax community's needs, as well as enabling the Tax Office
to achieve its strategic and tactical objectives, 
*	provides objective and impartial evaluation of the design and
development of products, processes and systems, and 
*	allows the Tax Office to work more closely with internal users,
application developers, staff and the community in the administrative
design of the tax system.


User Centred Designer - Vacancy
Duties: As a user centred designer you will identify the needs and
experience of users when interacting with Tax Office products and
systems. Creating and critiquing design solutions, you will ensure that
Tax Office product and system designs are integrated and maintain a best
practice user centred design model. To succeed in this role you will
have excellent communication skills as well as an ability to quickly
learn techniques to conduct usability research, testing and design. With
an innovative and flexible approach, you will be able to work both
independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines in a dynamic
Simulation Centre environment.

Simulation Centre Co-ordinator - Vacancy
Duties: You will be responsible for coordinating Simulation Centre audio
visual and user testing equipment including AMX as well as undertaking
comprehensive analysis of the audio visual infrastructure. Acting as
project liaison coordinator by working closely with stakeholders, you
will develop engagement briefs, project plans plus participant and
procedure documentation. Your ability to optimise the integration of
computer hardware, software and audio visual equipment plus experience
formulating project plans to meet client needs is essential. Ideally,
you will have an understanding of User Centred Design techniques as well
as sound technical writing skills and the ability to prioritise work to
meet deadlines.
