[chisigmail] HFESA / CHISIG Strategic Plan and Professional Development

Dear CHISIG members (and other CHISIGmail recipients),
I have sent an e-mail earlier today regarding HFESA's strategic plan to all
CHISIG members (at least the e-mails I had access to...).  If you are a
CHISIG member, and you did not receive this e-mail please let me know.

The strategic plan is for 2007-2011, and several CHISIG members contributed
to in development over the past year or so.  CHISIG was considered
throughout the planning process, and all of the strategies also apply to
CHISIG and it's membership in addition to the wider HFESA membership. 
 
On a related matter, a key priority in the strategic plan is related to
enhancing professional development of related industries (including HCI).
With respect to this, the HFESA are seeking a Professional Development
Officer to assist the whole of HFESA.  If there are any CHISIG members who
would be interested in pursuing this contract position please let me know
and I will send you some more information.  All candidates identified by the
end of September. 
 
Most people should be aware that CHISIG is a special interest group of the
HFESA.  CHISIG is considered by the HFESA board to be a vibrant, active and
valued community, and although our interests do not always intersect there
is a considerable amount that we can (and do) learn from each other.  In my
role as the CHISIG-HFESA Liaison officer I have had the opportunity to be a
member of the HFESA board for the past 4 years, and I always appreciate the
support from the HFESA board with respect to CHISIG activities and goals.
