No, I think Nintendo's out of touch!!! A very bizarre design direction for them to take.

I read that there's a way to sync it to your TV but you still need to use the stupid screened console meets controller as controller #1. Apparently additional players will need to use (lucky them though) other controllers like the wii-mote and perhaps (not sure) a classic controller.

Agreed all round. The Wii U looks like a nightmare for broad accessibility. Some of those games demoed look impossible to make accessible for a huge range of people. Am I out of touch? I just looked at it and groaned...

Thanks, Steve. I read one of the articles yesterday on the Wii U and it was a very moving (and angering!) account about how Nintendo has taken the direction that they have and all of the ways that it threatens to close yet another avenue of gaming for the disabled.

Keep up the good work with the coverage!

I hope you've all been following our E3 coverage. If not, it's not too late. Check out http://www.ablegamers.com/e3-2011/ablegamers-live-e3-2011.html to keep up with our tweets, posts, video and live blogging from the E3 floor.

It's a great time for game accessibility. This is, to my knowledge, the first time E3 has had representation for disabled gamers live.
