I've just bought a microHam USB interface, unpacked the OSX software (I run OSX 10.3.4) from the CD, and installed -- but my logger (MacLoggerDX) does not seem to communicating with my IC703.  I checked the USB port -- OSX acknowledges the device is present. And, the instructions that microHam provides for MacOSX are hopeless.  Any suggestions from successful users of this interface with OSX? FTDI blames Apple for this, but none of the other USB/Serial adapters seem to suffer from this problem. 73 Don Agro VE3VRW D o g P a r k S o f t w a r e L t d . email: dagro@dogparksoftware.com www: http://www.dogparksoftware.com iChat AV:dogpark@mac.com From johnmay at k6may.com Sat Apr 2 15:53:55 2005 From: johnmay at k6may.com (John May) Date: Sat Apr 2 15:55:13 2005 Subject: [MacLoggerContest] QRZ Online or HamCall Online? I do like the QSL cards displayed in MLDX. I have a few days left on my trial period with QRZ. My question is: Which subscription service is better? QRZ Online or HamCall Online? What's the differences? Thanks, John - K6MAY. What's the differences? That's a tough call - I have used them both and like them both. Here is the comparison matrix... 73 Don Agro VE3VRW D o g P a r k S o f t w a r e L t d . email: dagro@dogparksoftware.com www: http://www.dogparksoftware.com iChat AV:dogpark@mac.com From k8jwt at adelphia.net Mon Apr 4 19:31:59 2005 From: k8jwt at adelphia.net (Jacob Tennant) Date: Mon Apr 4 19:32:00 2005 Subject: [MacLoggerContest] VHF contesting support Message-ID: <004a01c5396e$7f3da7a0$2002a8c0@k8jwt> Are you folks including support for VHF/UHF weak signal contesting? Hi Jacob, Yes the discussions so far have included VHF/UHF contesting. To expand a bit on this ... the specific mechanisms and facilities for as many types of contest as possible have been part of the discussion - this is perhaps as one would expect if designing "an insanely great" mac contest logger (to use Don's words) [as opposed to a logger aimed at specific limited interests]. However there is a difference between the engine house of a piece of software being designed to cope with something at some point and the sorts of contest event which would be supported at any given time - as with virtually every other contest logger I know, the contests supported grow in number as the software matures. Hence I would caution about expectations on day one. However, it seems as if since my last posting to this list which was an attempt to get some positive support for a comprehensive OSX native contest logger, I am increasingly sceptical that we will ever get to that day one. I believe there is general agreement about there being a gap in the market for a top flight MacLogger Contest package along the lines that has been outlined. However I am unsure that this list contains the audience that will ever form sufficient consensus to allow such a project to get going. We will see. 73, Jonathan G0DVJ -- From dagro at dogparksoftware.com Wed Apr 13 20:43:08 2005 From: dagro at dogparksoftware.com (Don Agro) Date: Wed Apr 13 20:43:12 2005 Subject: [MacLoggerContest] Contest Helper window added to MacLoggerDX Message-ID: <8D479499-3303-4D20-84E3-BAEEE5029FC3@dogparksoftware.com> 73 Don Agro VE3VRW D o g P a r k S o f t w a r e L t d . email: dagro@dogparksoftware.com www: http://www.dogparksoftware.com iChat AV:dogpark@mac.com From dagro at dogparksoftware.com Sat Apr 16 15:01:18 2005 From: dagro at dogparksoftware.com (Don Agro) Date: Sat Apr 16 15:01:21 2005 Subject: [MacLoggerContest] MLDX Contest Helper FLoating Window Message-ID: MacLoggerDX version 4.0.8b18 has been posted: A "Contest Helper" floating window has been added... The Contest Helper Window has two main sections - the K5ZD Call Completion table and the Duplicates table. These two tables are updated dynamically as you type a call into MLDX - not waiting for a lookup. The Duplicates table is a user-configurable dupe checking tool that will check duplicate QSO's in your log based on date and time, band, mode and exact match as well as current band and current mode. The Contest Helper window also keeps a running tally of QSO's per hour. 73 Don Agro VE3VRW D o g P a r k S o f t w a r e L t d . email: dagro@dogparksoftware.com www: http://www.dogparksoftware.com iChat AV:dogpark@mac.com
