From wNomad at ukr.net Sat Oct 28 15:43:55 2006 From: wNomad at ukr.net (Nomad) Date: Sat Oct 28 16:09:11 2006 Subject: [IGDA Mobile-SIG List] Introduction to the group Message-ID: Hi there! I'd read in welcome message of mobile_games@igda.org mailing list that introductions are appreciated, so I wrote this message. My nickname is Nomad, I am from Ukraine. I learn to make mobile games (Pocket PC for now). When I googled word 'GledPlay' I found this mailing list. And subsribed myself to it because I'm very interested in this library, and want to know is it worth to try. That was my main reason to subscribe, but as I am only learning, I am interested in all subjects concerning mobile games development. I'm Alessio, and I've been writing Symbian applications/games since 2004. Because of the little experience I gathered, I've started writing LESSA, a content deployment and update manager for Symbian systems. The good thing, that may be usefull also to other devs, is that the project is opensource and under a non-restrictive license! Feel free to test and tell me what you think about it (both design and code). http://lessa.sourceforge.net Happy coding, Alessio 2006/10/28, Nomad : > Hi there! > > I'd read in welcome message of mobile_games@igda.org mailing list that > introductions are appreciated, so I wrote this message. > > My nickname is Nomad, I am from Ukraine. > I learn to make mobile games (Pocket PC for now). > When I googled word 'GledPlay' I found this mailing list. I'm from Blue River S.A., and have been working on J2ME games for a couple of years now. I wanted to ask you a question about the italian market. Is it a very open market with ads in all magazines and TV, all saying "send "XXXX" to 1234 and download this" or is it a more closed model like you see in the US? Do you think the europe market is like one big market or is it a different story in each country? I ask this because we've run some TV ads for one of our games in Spain lately, but with very little success so far. Thanks, jorge.
