[sbe-eas] DTV EAS Logging Question

Bob-

Observation is a great thing, but what about the DTV stations that are
automated? Or the stations that are running more than 3 or 4 programming
streams-that's a lot of TV to watch in a short amount of time. As for
digital radio, yes, I expect the problem is the same.observation is a good
thing but can you really check everything in the 8 or 10 seconds that an RWT
takes? I'm thinking that particularly for the automated radio and TV
stations, there will be a need for some kind of record, perhaps something
similar to a program log, that will provide solid confirmation that the test
or activation ran on each program stream.

We verify the same as any other station digital or analog; an operator
observes the test and logs it's success or failure. The test runs the same
as any other station.

Can someone answer a question for me-those of you with digital TV stations
that are broadcasting streams-How can you verify that an EAS Test has been
broadcast on all streams? I've seen EAS log forms that include a note that
says the test or activation was carried on all streams, but that appears to
be the only way, at this point to document the test or activation. Is that
acceptable to the FCC? Will there be something with the new equipment that
indicates for sure that a test or activation ran on all streams?
