[sbe-eas] What's the fix for a seized box?

The end of the EAN tomorrow should have the normal EOM tones which will release the box.  This video simulation goes over the process of aborting an EAN on the SAGE box if those tones do not make it through.

Test abort instructions are also part of the national test service bulletin on the Sage web site.  I believe all manufacturers have some information about the national test as it relates to their equipment on their respective web sites.

Maybe my pal Dennis in Alaska or another one of you engineering geniuses (remember, I'm a policy genius, not a techie!) can answer this.  If an EAS box "seizes" on an EAN and doesn't release back to air, what's the fix?  Should a station send a RWT?  Or something else?

Thanks-

Suzanne,

That info should be easy to find on the websites of the manufacturers, but it would be nice to gather it all together here...

Sending an RWT will indeed produce a set of EOM burps at the end of the test, but my question is would the unit be in the mood to let you send the RWT?  I recall that with the Sage units there will always be an ABORT soft-key available during an outgoing alert; I believe if it is used it will immediately send the EOM burps, but don?t quote me on that.  At a minimum that should release the unit and allow an RWT if necessary.

Steve
