Agreed – I did not think NOAA Weather Radio transmitters were accepting CAP
messaging at this point. I’ve yet to receive clear confirmation that they
do, but regardless someday they will if not already…

NWR will be transmitting SAME for a very long due to the number of NWR
receivers out there.
CAP is very much more of a behind the scenes communications language that
connects the sources of emergency info. with those devices that reach the
public.\

CAP is not being sent by NOAA Weather Radio… It may be here – but CAP
messaging is not supported by NWS yet.

CAP is already here in many areas…Look at the list of users posted by
Richard Rudman on the Web Site.
Just remember – CAP is a language, sort of like SAME is a language. It is
NOT a system.

It’s been sending EAS messages for many years now… If you’re talking about
CAP – that’s coming this year (last I checked.)

So,then, what is timetable for Al Gore's all hazards radio to relay EAS
messages?

NOAA Weather Radio is the ONLY method we have of reaching many, hence it
will remain for a long time a critical part of the EAS.
