[Techtoolslist] Data I/O 29A to Windows XP Data Transfer

Ignore the error, then set it to Com port 1. (if you only have 1 serial
port). Then you should be
good to go. It defaults to Com port 2, but most newer MB's only have com 1.
Once you set
it to the actual com port your MB has and exit, it will never ask you again.

Mike,

It says it can't communicate using COM port 2 and asks if I want to shut
down Promlink or ignore. I've tried manually switching to another port, but
I think the XP patch over-rides that.

Hi Mark,

What is happening when you try to fire up Promlink? I'm using the latest
and have no problems under XP with
a 3.2 GHz CPU. But, I only use it with 29B's and 288's.

Best,

Has anyone been able to get the latest version of Promlink to communicate
with an XP system? I have Promlink 6.10 with the XP patch, but I can't get
the 29A to communicate with the PC. I've read everything I can find on the
topic (29A manual, Google, Promlink info) and I've run out of options.
There seems to be a lot of info on the 29B but not the 29A.
