[Techtoolslist] 6800 to 6502 pod combo ROM?

as stated in the service manual the U3 eprom is a 2716 type.
so capacity is 2kB (000-7FF)
the "single cpu" eprom files "6502" and "540344r1.1.6800" are 1kB (000-3FF) and probably they have been extracted from the original 2716 eprom and should be doubled in order to fill a 2716 and not having to mess with jumper on the A10 line.
so try with the file "6502" doubled and burned onto a 2716, it should work with either jumper W4 or W3 set.
you should have the same effect using "540344" file and setting the jumper W4/w3 according to service manual.
make sure your 6502 supports 2Mhz speed (maybe selftest clock is slower... but who knows ?)
service manual is here

Thanks for the help.
The eprom I have in there is labeled 540344 U3 1.1. I tried comparing checksums with it and the three links above, and none of them matched. I assumed this was the dual boot, and that's why I didn't change it out.
Is the 6502 the best one to use if converting? Do I just burn this to a 2716 or do I have to double the image first?
Thanks again.

grab eprom files here:

file "6502" is for a 6502 pod
file "540344r1.1.6800" is for a 6800 pod
file "540344" should be used for "dual boot" pod.
try and let us know.

I went back and double checked my work on cut traces and jumpers and didn't see any errors. I replaced the 6800 with a 6502a, and tied pin 19 to VCC. Can I use the original ROM in the 6800 POD? If so, is it more than just tying pin 19 to VCC? Thanks again!
