Speaking of Leland Off Road.. Do these actually suicide? Or is there  a
common fault, I actually have two boardsets coming my way now.

Well, only in as much as you need to keep it straight so you know which
input goes to which address line when it comes time to process the output
and generate equivalent logic.  (You're just brute-forcing over all the
input combinations, but you do need to know what the stimulus to the input
pins is for any given output state.)
