Has anyone used the USB port of these for accessing the Micro-SD card?

I made an image of OS9-6.1 on a 1GB Micro-SD card but I'm thinking how 
can I easily archive the drive without opening the case? I'm thinking 
mini-USB to regular USB female and mount that on the unused expansion 
slot metal cover plate.
