[Town Meeting] Affordable housing marketing plan

At last night's meeting (4/27) Town Meeting members discussed the availability of the 
Marketing and Buyer Selection Plan for affordable units through the Town's 
Inclusionary Zoning program.  That Plan was reviewed and approved by the Fair 
Housing Advisory Committee, and the Affordable Housing Task Force in October, 
2004.  It was also reviewed by the Board of Selectmen in November, 04, as part of 
the Town's submission to the State Department of Housing and Community 
Development under the Local Initiative Program.  The Marketing Plan as well as 
other elements of the program must be approved by the State in order for the 
affordable units to count toward our 40B Inventory of Affordable Housing.  The 
Resale Restriction is also something that the State must approve. 

I have attached a copy of the approved Marketing and Buyer Selection Plan for 
Affordable Units, and also a summary of the Resale Restriction, for Town Meeting 
Members to review.  The Marketing and Buyer Selection Plan is also being posted on 
the Town's website (front page, and under the Arlington Redevelopment Board).  
Hard copies will be available at Town Meeting on Monday, 5/2/05.
