[Town Meeting] Alan McClennen Memo Related to Articles 38 and 39 (Disposition of the Parmenter and Crosby Schools)

Fellow Town Meeting Members:
 
Attached to this message you will find a memorandum prepared by former
Director of Planning Alan McClennen on the reuse potential of various town
properties.  The Parmenter and Crosby Schools are the first two properties
considered in this memo, which was prepared in 2003 in response to a warrant
article submitted by the Finance Committee (see below).  
 
While some of the information in the memo is outdated--for example, the
rents at the two schools are substantially higher now--much of it is still
relevant.  I hope you find it helpful.

2003 Annual Town Meeting ARTICLE 27                      SALE OF TOWN OWNED
REAL ESTATE

To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to sell any Town
owned real estate property, to determine to what purpose the proceeds of
such sale shall be put, or take any action related thereto.
        (Inserted at the request of the Finance Committee)
 
Note that this article received a unanimous vote of no action at Town
Meeting as recommended by the Board of Selectmen.
