Yes, it may be true that if every developer used .NET, then more consumers 
would install it.

But by that measure, if every developer developed Mac-only products, then 
most consumers would buy a Mac and Mac's market share would jump to 90%.

But frankly, I don't care.  Increasing .NET's market penetration numbers (or 
the Mac's) is not my business.  Selling games is.  And if using a particular 
product limits my customer base to half or less of what it otherwise would 
be, that product must confer spectacular benefits to get me to use it.  .NET 
isn't there yet (for me)...
