Keep in mind some of the major Internet stats companies only report U.S. 
traffic which can account for huge discrepancies in visitor and/or user 
counts. Brian brings up a good point that many of the numbers that are 
often quoted may not be apples to apples comparisons (users, hits, 
visits, stats from log files vs page tagging etc.)
