[casual_games] characters in games

I don't feel anything for the characters in some of the casual games I play,
but I'm not in the target market. Survey a few hundred Diner Dash addicts
and they'll tell you that they love Flo.

 

I personally see Diner Dash as a micromanagement sim. Others argue the game
is purely about emotions, like XEODesign:

He was probably talking about games like Diner Dash, Mystic Inn, Cake Mania,
Plantasia, Gold Miner Vegas, etc. Lots of games have several characters that
play smaller roles in the plot too, including Mah Jong Quest, Aveyond, and
Mystery Case Files. It definitely pays off if you can get the player to care
about your protagonist!

well, nice media [art audio] can definitely enhance any gaming
experience.
