Being on the very last panel of Casuality, I worked with various developers
to identify some humorous signs that "your game is bad," incorporating
themes from the Casuality conference itself. Since there was nearly nobody
in the audience for the last panel, I figured that I would share the
"insights:"
The Top 10 signs that your game is bad.
10. the focus group returned their pay
9. your mom refused to play test it
8. you made an online version first
7. your publisher released it as open source
6. the first localization was in Latin
5. it went right to a bundled subscription service
4. the embedded ad got more play
3. the mobile version was ported to 1 handset
2. the royalties resembled micropayments
1. nobody even cloned it
I foresee a long tradition of casual game jokes starting with "my game was
so bad that." Please feel free to send along a few "my game is so bad"
jokes. I will compile a list.
For the record, another popular joke series was the "our industry is so
small that we could triple the size by buying our own games."
