"Military applications of voice notifiers (such as warnings in jet fighters) typically use a female voice, because most pilots are male and the sound of a female voice in a crisis situation is both non-threatening and more attention-getting (in part because it is subconsiously registering as "out of place"). Useful when the voice announcement is typically about a potentially fatal problem.

Doesn't necessarily translate to the game world, of course, but a fun bit of trivia I think."
