I agree. If you can supply your own sample library, then it might be OK -
but the default sound set is just too bad on any computer. And it does *not*
give a retro feel, only a budget feel. Old-school games would use
tracker-style music (MODs).

If you use a desktop Flash wrapper, you can probably include
http://www.un4seen.com/bass.html
which has good MOD support (also MP3/OGG-compressed MODs).
