Brian,
The FAQ is a great idea.
I regularly get calls from developers who are new to downloadable games
(often coming from the retail game world) that usually break down into the
following questions:
- Should I go with a publisher or approach portals on my own?
- What is a good royalty rate for a game if I work with a publisher?
- What is a good revenue share rate for a major portal?
- How easy is it to get on a portal? Does working with a publisher make a
difference?
Plus, the questions you already asked:
- How much revenue can I expect to make?
- What technology should I use to create my game?
These are all good and important questions, with somewhat involved answers,
depending on several factors. It would be great to have thorough answers in
the FAQ so I could point people there.
