Dear friends,
A few months ago I wrote to the list to ask for help in determining my
thesis topic and received a great deal of helpful responses and
subsequent conversations. I appreciate the insight and knowledge and hope
for more feedback.
My topic will be focused on women (18+) casual-gamers who play casual games
frequently (daily or close to it) and who consider themselves to be
high-scorers or skillful. Games like Wii games, any online or mobile games,
or even Facebook games would be interesting and relevant.
The data collection will last for 4 weeks and will be online only, so
participants can be located anywhere. The data will consist of online
interviews (email or IM) and diary entries.
I look forward to any direct referrals and I can share more information
about the project. The research has been approved by my university and
ethics committee and I can share information on my advisor who has done a
great deal of psychological research on gaming.
I am currently studying at Nottingham Trent University in the UK with
Dr Mark Griffiths, but I am from New York City and I have been working in
new media in the US for 10+ years.
I thank you very much and welcome all conversations.
Best,
