The overview of what the tester is doing in the pattern test is on that
page of the manual. For the reported failing address (long should report
this as well as the BTS discrepancy) what is reported for short, or manual
write/read?

The long test is looking for pattern sensitive errors (nearest neighbor).
What happens if you LOOP (see 4H-11 in the operators manual).
I've seen similar on a (non arcade) board with a bad bus transceiver but it
can also indicate a fault in the RAM itself.
