Joe,

You can get cheap knockoff grabbers on ebay for as low as 10-15 cents a
piece shipped, from China:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/333555954731

Just be aware that you get what you pay for. I bought a bunch of the cheap
ones a while back, and through regular use, they tended to break after a
while (months of weekly use). Usually it's the tips that wear out and
crack or break, just due to the type of plastic used, as it isn't the tough
nylon that Pomona uses. They're cheap enough that you can just replace
them, and are fine for light hobby use. But if you want quality, you need
to pay for it. (Or that's what I found when I went down this same road,
anyway.)

I just add one or two of the Pomonas to my cart every time I do my monthly
Digikey order now, and that keeps me stocked, without needing to spend a
ton of money at once. They make the best ones IMO, but yeah they aren't
cheap. (And there isn't even much of a quantity discount from the big
retailers on them, unfortunately.)
